She’s been nominated for Tony, Drama Desk, Ace and Emmy Awards. She’s won several Obies, Outer Critics Circle Awards, a Pen Citation and an Anne Frank National Foundation for Jewish Culture Award. She has created nearly fifty musical theater pieces and hundreds of songs, music for movies and TV, novels, non-fiction and several children’s books. Her new children’s book ,“Hey, You Come Here”, published by Scholastic, hit shelves last Spring. Recent projects include a musical for the Alley Theatre in Texas and “Jewish Girls” at the Jewish Community Center in Manhattan. She is currently teaching at NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts.
